                                            Maximus - male iggy

                                            Picture
Max is a gorgeous purebred 4yr old male iggy who needs a home with someone who has experience of the breed.

Through no fault of his own Max has been bounced through a number of homes (4 that we know of prior to coming into rescue but they may be more), so it has left him quite insecure and unsure of himself. He also spent 2 months at an RSPCA earlier this year which would have been a terrifying ordeal for him.

Little Maximus is quite fearful and appears unused to living as a pet, it would seem he has been living as a kennel dog for most of his life. Max needs a very understanding owner who will provide him with secure and stable environment, so he can develop more confidence.

He is affectionate and learns quickly. He walks well on lead and gets on great with other little dogs. Max is also fine with cats. He loves sleeping on his Carer's bed and is also crate trained. His carer is working on toilet training with him as it seems up until now he has lived in kennels or outside.

Maximus is a beautiful little dog, a true heart throb. He is in excellent health and had a heap of dental work done whislt at the rspca. For anyone who is an IG enthusiast this is a delightful little dog, well bred and very sweet natured.

Because Max has been bounced through so many homes in his short life we will be quite particular about his new home. He will only be available to a home where he will be able to live out the rest of his life, this little guy's confidence cant take another change of ownership. We want to be certain that his next home is his forever home.

Maximus needs to go to a home with previous breed experience/knowledge, and preferably where he has the company of another small gentle natured dog. He needs a quiet home without children or too many other dogs.

                                            Ringo - male iggy

                                            Picture
Ringo is a 2year old blue and white purebred iggy who has only jsut come into care. He is a happy boy who likes people and gets on well with other dogs. Being only 2 yrs old he is still energetic and quite lively.

Ringo has been kept as a breeding/kennel dog so he is learning how to be a pet. He walks well on lead and is keen to please. Ringo has not yet been cat tested but this will be done soon. He is not housetrained but hopefully he will be litter trained before heading off to his new home.

RIngo would be ok as a single dog or as a conmpanion for anopther dog. However if Ringo's new owners work fulltime he would need a buddy to play with as he would become bored (and no doubt destructive) if left on his own all day every day.

                                            Lilly - female iggy

                                            Picture
Lily is a lovely fawn & white girl who was surendered to us when her owners were unable to keep her due to accomodation issues. She has been well loved her entire life. Lily is good with other dogs, good with cats and is used to being part of a busy household.

Lily is litter trained, and is used to being an inside dog. She is a pretty and friendly girl who is looking for a home where she will be spoilt and given lots of attention. She is used to having another dog for company and would not be suited to a single dog home if her new owners work fulltime. Lily can also be a bit bossy (typical female!) so may be best with a male doggy companion.

Lily is located in Sydney but can be rehomed interstate. Lilly walks well on the lead and loves to snuggle next to her humans at night. LIly will jump into your arms if you ask her to, its very cute!

Ruby - purebred female iggy pup

                                            Picture
This is sweet little Ruby, who has jsut come into care. Ruby was much loved by her owners but die to unforseen circumstances they were unable to keep her.

Ruby is a lovely fawn pied girl who is outgoing and happy. She loves other iggies and is a sweet and affectionate little girl.

Ruby would love a home with another IG or similar sized dog for company, where she will be allowed inside. She is almsot housetrained and loves human company as well.

                                            Giorgio - male iggy

                                            Picture
Giorgio is a purebred male Iggy who is under a year old. The vet estimates he is between 6-10 months of age. He is a lovely social boy, good with cats and very affectionate.

He was surrendered to a country pound and the ranger saved him and sent him to us. Giorgio is a happy outgoing pup who charms everyone he meets. Giorgio loves other dogs and is a lovely companion.

Poor Giorgio came into care with a nasty lump on his head, but hes been checked out by the vet and the lump has gone down now much to everyone's relief.

Beau & Cruiser - purebred male iggies

                                            Picture
eau & Cruiser are 2 purebred male iggies who have been well loved and cared for their entire lives. They are happy well adjusted dogs whose owner has had to surrender due to a change in circumstances. We would love it if these two boys could find a loving home together.

Beau is just turning 5yrs old, he is blue and white. Beau has a very spunky personality. He's extremely affectionate and
loves any kind of attention. He loves other dogs, is very playful, likes toys and games and food. He has quite a sophisticated palette,   and will eat olives and apples and just about anything - it's very funny. And he is very funny too, a good communicator.

Cruiser is 7yrs old and is fawn & white. Cruiser is kind, sensitive and affectionate. He's a very quiet dog, happy to spend time on his own under a blanket. He loves time with people more than time with other dogs at the park. He is a gentle intelligent softy.

Mario, Yoshi and Luigi, 13 weeks old, male iggy pups.

                                            Picture
Mario - fawn pied (on the right in the pic to the left)
Yoshi (ON HOLD) - blue pied (in bottom left pic)
Luigi - (ON HOLD) fawn and white pup (on left in pic to the left)

They have all had thier 2nd vaccs and are microchipped, vetchecked, wormed and will be desexed prior to being rehomed.

These beautiful pups are priced at $650. They are well socialised, happy confident puppies. They are from an 'oops' litter and the Sire could be one of 4 dogs. If you want your puppy to come with registered papers you will need to pay the additional cost of a DNA test. Otherwise they come without papers but with full breeder support.

                                            Donatello - male iggy pup

                                            Picture
Donatello and his litter mates were surrendered to a country pound. All the litter mates found homes but Donatello ended up in rescue. He is thought to be about 4months old and he is red fawn in colour, with a little white on his chest.

Donatello is a sweet and affectionate puppy who loves us humans. He is currently in foster care with 2 adult IGs and has been quite submissive to them. He loves to cuddle into you neck and snooze, and he is a typical playful pup.

Puccino - male iggy x poodle

                                            Picture
Puccini is a lovely little iggy x poodle who found himself in a Sydney pound. His coat was extremely matted so had to be shaved off.

Puccini is around 3 yrs old, and is good with most other dogs and very sweet and gentle boy. He has a non shedding coat that will require grooming or clipping to prevent him becoming matted again.

Puccini has the size and build of a male IG but has the soft white non shedding coat of the poodle. He is very agile and can jump into his carers arms when invited. We belive he is also toilet trained.

Puccini can be reactive with some small fox terrier type dogs, so we suspect he may have been attacked by one. So a single dog home or the capacity to test Puccini with the new owner's current dog/s would be best.

                                            Penne - iggy

                                            Picture
Penne found herself in a Sydney pound after escaping her yard. As she was not claimed by her owners, she came to iggy rescue. Penne is thought to be around 2-3years old. She is a happy girl who is very affectionate and loves attention.

Penne is doing well with her housetraining, and she enjoys the company of other small dogs. Penne needs a home where she has another dog for company if her owners are going to be at work all day.

Penne is a tiny IG girl, weighing around 3kgs. She is a lovely red fawn colour and is very people social. Penne has clearly been loved by her former owners.

                                            Vinnie - 8yr old iggy

                                            Picture
Vinnie is a very sweet and gentle 8yr old iggy male that is looking for a fairly quiet home. Vinnie has been well loved and cared for all his life but unfortunately his family's toddlers are proving too much for him.

Vinnie is good with cats, good with other small dogs, and is house trained. He is a gentle little guy who needs a home with no young children.

Valentino - (was Leonardo) - iggy

                                            Picture
Leo is a purebred italian greyhound pup who has just found his way into rescue. He is a solid boy who loves the company of other dogs.

Being a puppy Leo requires ongoing training and socialisation. He loves snuggling in a warm spot in the sun like most iggies, and loves playing with toys.

                                            Galileo - iggy x maltese

                                            Picture
Gali is the size and build of a male IG, but has a soft non shedding coat which will require regular grooming.

Galileo is thought to be around a year old. He is a happy bright and active little dog who is good with other dogs and he would love a home with another doggy friend to play with.
Gali found a wonderful home with Emma in Adelaide.

                                            Figaro - iggy x chihuahua

                                            Picture
igaro is a delightful little dog with the most lovely gold brindle colouring. Although its not very common chihuauas do come in brindle and this is where we assume Figaro gets his colouring from. There are no other breeds small enough that come in brindle that could have contributed to his colouring.

He is a lovely quiet and gentle boy, approx a year old. He has a typical iggy nature and is good with other dogs. Figaro has been in kennels doing his quarrantine after being in a pound and will soon be in foster care.

Figaro was meant to be put to sleep but the person who has the job at the pound of euthanising the dogs refused to euthanise Figaro as he was such a lovely boy! So Figaro got a stay of execution long enough for iggy rescue to save him. He must be a very special boy as I have never heard of this happening before.

                                            Enzo - iggy x foxie

                                            Picture
Enzo is the most loving and affectionate little man.  He will look at you adoringly whenever he is spoken to.  He is partial to a pat and a cuddle, especially on your lap and can stay there forever if you let him.  Enzo is a bit of a talker, most often in his sleep.

Enzo is very dog and people social and is not a barker. He is crate trained, walks well on lead and is housebroken. Enzo would love a home with another little dog toplay with.

                                            Romulus - iggy

                                            Picture
This is Romulus the quieter and larger of the two boys. Romulus is estimated to be around 3 yrs of age. As you can see Rommie is overweight and needs to lose weight. He is the shyer and less confident of the two dogs. Rommie is also the cuddliest and loves being snuggled and on your lap.

Rommie is a sweet boy, and tends to rely on other dogs to give him confidence. He is good with other dogs but a little too interested in cats to live peacefully with one.

Romulus comes desexed, vaccinated, heartworm tested, wormed, microchipped and lifetime registered for $320.

These boys were named after the founders of Rome by Fleur, one of their guardian angels  :)

                                            Sienna - iggy x whippet x foxie

                                            Picture
Sienna has a very sad story. She was abandoned at Albury dump in early June. The rangers spent 3 weeks trying to catch her. She was extremely timid, filthy dirt, very thin, and covered in sores. We believe Sienna had no food or shelter for those 3 weeks, its a miracle she even survived. Thankfully Trish from Albury Dog Rescue, heard abont Sienna and rescued her from the pound.

Since being in foster care however, Sienna has blossomed. She is a happy affectionate little girl who gets on with all other dogs. Sienna is being fostered temporarily in Albury with a houseful of huge dogs, and she gets along with them fine. She is also safe with cats.

Sienna is still thin but has been gaining weight. She appears to be fully housebroken as well. She will soon have her vetwork done and then will be going into foster care with an iggy rescue carer. Sienna will be available for interstate adoption.

Sienna must go to a home where she will be allowed inside to be part of the family. She would love another doggy companion if her new owners work fulltime.

Sienna will be desexed, vaccinated, heartworm tested, flea treated, wormed, microchipped and lifetime registered, and will be available for an adoption cost of $350. She is thought to be around 3yrs old.

Please email us if you are interested in giving Sienna a forever home, or would like more information about her.

                                            Remus - iggy

                                            Picture
Remus was found in a Canberra pound. It took a lot of ppl working together to get Remus and his brother Romulus safely into foster care.

Remus is the more outgoing and lively one. He warms up to people quickly and his tail is always wagging. Remus is underweight and had to put weight on before he was available for adoption.

Remus is great with other dogs but a bit too interested in cats, he would take further training around cats to live in peace with one.

Remus found a fabulous home in orange NSW. See pics of Remus in his new home on the gallery page.

                                            Peppi - iggy x foxie

                                            Picture
Peppi is a 2 yr old iggy/foxie cross. He is a lovely little guy, with a curly tail and 'undecided' ears. Peppi is a bright happy little boy who loves chasing tennis balls. He will bring the ball back to you every time, with a huge smile on his face and his little curly tail waving madly

Peppi is housetrained, great with other dogs, and good with cats. Peppi is currently in foster care in a home with 2 dogs and 2 cats and gets on with all of them. Peppi has a very iggy temperament.

Peppi found a wonderful home with Louise and her family in Vic. See pics of Peppi in his new home on the gallery page.

                                            Coco - iggy

                                            Picture
Coco was 6yrs old when she was surrenderd to rescue. She had been neglected and was dirty and overweight when she arrived. Coco had been poorly socialised with other dogs and was quite snappy.

After some time in foster care Coco learnt how to interact with other dogs, and now happily shares the yard with 5 other iggies. She has lost weight and her coat is shiny and healthy.

Coco has been adopted with Oliver by a lovely lady in Adelaide. They both have a fantastic life now, and in recent pics Coco looked so happy she seemed like a different dog.

                                            Oliver - iggy

                                            Picture
Oliver was 6yrs old when he was surrendered to rescue. He had been neglected and was very thin and dirty with very little muscle tone. Oliver had been living without any shelter from the elements and had been having seizures due to heat stress. He was a sad sorry little dog

Whilst in foster care Oliver put on weight, and gained a new zest for life. He played happily with all the other iggies in his foster home and quickly settled into the new routine.

Oliver has been adopted along with Coco by a lovely lady in Adelaide. Both dogs have a wonderful life now. They have daily walks, live indoors and are showered with love and affection.

Sam - iggy x mini foxie

                                            Picture
Sam ended up in the Broken Hill pound at 4 months of age. He was absolutely filthy, full of worms, underweight and very timid. Sam was fostered by a lovely lady here In Broken Hill who housebroke him and lavished him with tlc. Sam thrived in her care.

Sam was adopted by a lovely couple in Adelaide. He has a doggy boxer companion and loves his new life.

                                            Eric- iggy

                                            Picture
Eric was a 4 year old IG who was raised with a family. Eric was overweight and has epilepsy. He had been well loved and cared for until his family moved to a house where he was not allowed inside.  Eric spent over a year living outdoors. At 4 yrs of age Eric nipped one of the children so the family surrendered him to us to rehome.

Eric now has a fabulous home in Melbourne. His new owner Stef can often be seen at cafe's with Eric. He has a greyhound doggy companion and since living with Stef has lost all his excess weight and is in great health!
