Antonio 7-8 year old Italian Greyhound
SYDNEY - Iggy Rescue has a new arrival!! Antonio aged 7-8 yrs - a blue/white male Italian Greyhound. Antonio is from country NSW, we have worked with the RSPCA to get him to safety with us (thank you RSPCA for alerting us).
Antonio has had a major dental and is currently learning how to be in a house, walk on a lead and so on. He will need another dog for company (preferably a confident dog to show him the way and that he can cosy up with) and someone who has plenty of time to spend with him so that he progresses. Antonio weighs 6 kilos. NOTE - he is NOT suitable for apartments/town houses.

Tuppence 10 year old Italian Greyhound - Rehomed.
"Tuppence". This tiny, dear little girl (only 4.2 kgs) lost both her elderly owners recently. Taken in by a family member, she just had a major dental and has 10 teeth left. Tuppence is a sweet girl who is looking for a loving home preferably with another Italian or similar sized dog although she has been an only dog, she is not used to being left alone for too long.
She likes to go for a walk and is used to a quieter environment and a garden so not likely to be suitable for units or inner city living. Housetrained, this girl is a devoted lap sitter and companion.
If you can offer her a home, please email with some brief info on your home: janeisobel@bigpond.com. The family are happy to wait until the right home is found which is how we always work and we will seek their approval and input on potential adopters.

Jett, 6 year old Italian Greyhound -
Rehomed!

We are delighted to introduce gorgeous Jett to you all. Jett is a cheeky boy who was quite shy to begin with, but now his little personality is really on show. He adores being with his main human but also seeks out the company of his fur friends too. He is a happy boy with a lot of love to give.
While being in care, he has lived with two other males and bonded with one in particular. Where one goes, the other follows, it is really lovely to watch. Jett will need a home that is quieter as he does startle. For this reason, he will not be suitable for a home with young children or a lot of people coming and going. He has been living with two children, however they are very closely monitored (and as you can see, one is not mobile!).
Jett has tended to warm more to women than men, however he does seek out my partner now. Jett is a smaller IG only weighing 4.8kg's. He has had a leg break in the past, but the vets have said it doesn't seem to bother him at all. He has recently had a big dental, been desexed, microchipped and vaccinated. He has had a heart worm screening, and also been having monthly flea and heart worm treatments.
The suitable new owners will need to meet the following criteria:

- Must have a small dog companion
- No cats
- Secure yard, access to both inside and outside
- Happy to continue ongoing training
Ralph and Noddy - Rehomed!
6 yr old - brother & sister

PRIVATE REHOMING - a pair of 6 yr old Italian Greyhounds - brother and sister (Ralph and Noddy), located in Melbourne.
These dogs are from the same breeder and have lived together all their lives and must be rehomed together as they are very bonded. They live with cats and love them so a cat would be a bonus in their new home. They are fully housetrained and use a dog door, are used to daily walks and meeting other dogs. They are desexed, vaccinated and microchipped and up to date with dentals. The sister has a condition which requires her to be on daily medication which is very inexpensive @ approximately 50 cents a day and her brother recently had a cancer removed but has got the all clear. More information can be provided as required.
Their owner cannot keep them sadly and although Iggy Rescue is taking a break, we will still advertise dogs for owners needing to rehome. In this case the owner is known to me and I have personally offered to assist. In the first instance, please email me ONLY if you are in a position to adopt NOW. (janeisobel@bigpond.com) with general information about your home and why you'd like to adopt them. Breed experience is required as is good, secure fencing. Their adoption fee is $500 for the pair. Please think carefully before applying and if you are serious and in a position to own a pair of dogs, please apply by email rather than post here. Thanks, Jane

Audrey - Rehomed!

10 year old female Italian Greyhound
Audrey is 10 yrs old and looking for a loving home. She is currently in care with Jane in Sydney. Audrey uses a doggie door and after spending her life living outside is now housetrained and very clean.
She is quite independent and loves curling up in a bed with Jane's own Italians so would love to be a second dog, she wouldn't cope as an only dog. Audrey loves to go for a walk and waits by the door however she's a little nervous of traffic so prefers to be walked in quiet areas. Jane is happy to discuss Audrey with anyone who is serious about opening their home and heart to an older girl.
She lost all her teeth on arrival but has no issues eating biscuits and meat etc. She does have arthritis and for this reason we prefer a warm environment so she's more comfortable. If you are experienced with older dogs and their health requirements, please complete an application form in the first instance.
Audrey is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped and as mentioned had a major dental on arrival.

Ziggy - Rehomed!

11 Year old Italian Greyhound
SPECIAL HOME NEEDED - Ziggy is a gorgeous boy (11 years young) who is just about the most affectionate Iggy we’ve ever rescued. He loves to go for a walk but most of all he loves to curl up on your lap as he is so very loving or at least be beside you, watching TV.
Sadly, Ziggy is slowly going
blind but please don’t let this sway your interest because in the right home he will make a perfect
companion. We’ve assessed him (in 2 foster homes) over a few months and got to know him and love him! He’s good in the car and loves to play.
With his failing eyesight nothing can be done – it’s Progressive Retinal Atrophy or “PRA”, this
condition is not uncommon in older dogs and Jane can provide advice and support to anyone interested as she has rescued several blind dogs and also owned older dogs that have lost their sight over time.
Ziggy certainly doesn’t let being partially sighted stop him and he will take himself outside to do his
business via a doggy door, once he’s learned where everything is.
He loves to go walking BUT Ziggy
is not suitable for dog parks where he might be rushed at by larger dogs and frightened by all that’s
going on so if that is important to you, he is not the right dog.
He lives with other dogs and enjoys the closeness of another Italian or small dog for example. He is also good with cats. Young children will not be right for Ziggy for many reasons. He is finely boned and feels the cold – even on the warmer days he can frequently be found under your doona – he somehow snuggles right under throws and blankets so look before you sit down!
Some Italian Greyhounds experience epilepsy and Ziggy is one of them – his is very mild and does not need medication at all, this is not likely to change either.
We are not sure what brings a turn on (stress, too much excitement and over exercise can be the causes for some dogs) but he remains awake with his legs paddling for a few minutes and then is up and around as normal.
We are surprised that we’ve had so few applications for this gorgeous boy, he has so much love to give and his health issues can easily be managed by a loving owner with a quiet home.
ADOPTION CRITERIA: The important thing to know is that he needs a steady environment that
doesn’t change all the time, Jane is happy to go through this with any promising applicants.
Ziggy has had all his vet work done and will be available for an adoption fee of $150.00.
FOSTER CARER notes: "We love Ziggy, he has fit into our lives and is a delight. My partner who can be a tough marker, has softened to his gentle and loving ways. We love that he seeks him out for a cuddle of an evening and just wants to be touching 'his human'.
Ziggy is an easy happy chap who is more sprightly than our nine year old Italian Greyhound. He loves playing with us and is quite cheeky.
Anyone who opens their hearts and their home to Ziggy will love him to bits, he is a beautiful, loving boy.
We are happy to also discuss any questions a potential home may have regarding Mr Zig Zig."

Zenzo - Rehomed!

4 Year Old Pedigree Italian Greyhound
What a delight our latest addition Zenzo has been. After arriving into care he has quickly settled into his foster home.
Zenzo came to Iggy Rescue after he lost his animal companion and didn't cope with the loss. He will not be re homed to anyone who cannot offer a dog companion and they must have breed experience. He LOVES his cat companions and in an ideal world we would also like a cat to be part of his new family.
Zenzo has inbuilt springs in his legs, so good fencing is a must. At this stage, apartment living in not an option.
Zenzo has thrived in his foster home and we would like this to continue in his new home. Please only apply if you can offer him a stable forever home.
He has had all his vet work done and we are now taking applications. If you have previously applied, you may need to apply again.

Maggie 9 yr old Whippet Rehomed

Miss Maggie is the most beautiful natured lady of simple needs and few demands. A gentle soul, she is most happy curled up on the lounge next to you. Maggie has already proven to be very loyal and affectionate and would make a wonderful addition to anyone looking for a mature companion.
Maggie arrived from the pound in poor condition. She was terribly underweight, her fur was brittle and she had some nasty, open wounds. She has spent the last month in care recuperating – now, her wounds have healed and she has put on some much needed weight. Despite her terrible beginnings, Maggie has simply blossomed into the sweetest, most loveable souls.
Maggie is happily in foster care with 4 other whippets (male and female) and a solid pug with no issues. She has also met other dogs of all sizes and ages. Maggie has especially bonded with another gentle whippet whilst in care so she would benefit from another calm, gentle doggy companion in her new home. She is still yet to be cat tested but it can be arranged.
Maggie is a real home-body and must have access to inside/outside via a doggy door or similar at all times. She is perfectly housetrained and copes well with being left alone for periods. She has shown no escape or destructive tendencies (other than a ripped magazine off the coffee table) and sleeps quietly throughout the night.
Maggie is not a fussy eater and loves her food. Maggie walks well on lead and never wanders far from your side. Whippets are sensitive to weather extremes so she would appreciate a warm coat in the winter months and a cool spot in summer.
Maggie is looking for a quieter home where she will be loved and adored. She wants for little, a soft blanky on the lounge and some cuddles. Maggie can be a tad shy when meeting new people, but once she knows you she just loves you to bits. She has the sweetest personality and responds well to gentle reassurance.
Maggie is a smaller whippet, weighing about 12kg. She comes desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and wormed.

Mia, 10mth old Italian Greyhound (greater Sydney area only) Rehomed

PLEASE READ OUR ADOPTION CRITERIA BEFORE APPLYING – WE CAN’T PROCEED WITH ANY APPLICATIONS THAT DO NOT MEET ALL OF THE CRITERIA AND WILL NOT RESPOND:
Mia is a very sweet but shy little girl who will take a bit of time to settle into a new home and due to this fact, we are only rehoming within greater Sydney area.
Mia is energetic - full of beans like many Iggy pups. She is great with the dogs she lives with, especially Italian Greyhounds and would love a playmate – a confident dog that will show her the way but also have a good game with her.
Mia is housetrained and walks well on the lead. She loves to snuggle up with the older IG that she lives with now and manages to entice him into a game of chase me and bitey face. She loves to stalk him around the house but he has adjusted to this lively young puppy’s company and play her games with enthusiasm. Ideally any companion would be able to keep up with her more easily.
Mia requires good fencing that can’t be climbed as she’s pretty good at that unfortunately. She came from a very sad beginning and it has taken several months to rehabilitate her. She cannot be rehomed with young children or to an only dog situation. She is also an IG that will take time to warm up to new people and will do better in a quiet, breed experienced home.
Medical Notes:
She is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, heart worm tested and has had a dental.
- IG experience (Mia is not an easy dog)
- Another Italian Greyhound or similar size dog (Mia doesn’t cope on her own)
- Quiet and stable home (no children under 12 yrs of age)
- Sydney or up to 1.5 hours outside of Sydney (driving distance)
- Fully fenced property – high fencing and gates, no gaps or climbable areas (Mia is a climber and can squeeze through gaps)

Medical Notes:
- Mia has scaring on her back due to the shocking condition she was kept in prior to being rescued. This has been extensively treated and her skin condition is now healed, however the scaring may take a little longer to settle down. It is not obvious from all angles, but can be seen especially at the base of her neck where her back starts.
- She does have sensitive skin and is still having medicated baths which the new owner will need to keep up on a fortnightly basis or more frequently if needed.
She is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, heart worm tested and has had a dental.
Hozier, 8 year old Whippet/Italian Greyhound cross (approx. 10 kilos) Rehomed

Hozier is an 8 yr old small sized Whippet (possibly a cross but behaves exactly like a Whippy). Since his arrival just over 2 months ago from a country pound, we’ve learned a lot about him. He is definitely NOT cat friendly but seems ok with birds, showing no interest if they come near. He loves other dogs, preferring smaller ones as large dogs can scare him. He is only 11 kilos in weight but is much taller in height with long legs.
Hozier is very enthusiastic with food and tap dances with his front legs when dinner’s on the way and knows how to sit while he waits. He will drag beds and bedding from one room to another which is very whippet-like so breed experience is preferred. He also loves his daily walks, we don’t believe he’d ever been walked on lead before and he responds well to correction. He does bark sometimes when he sees another dog but it is not every time and we are working on correcting this.
He is housetrained and can use a doggie door, now that the weather has turned really cold, he likes to be wrapped up in a blanket and also wears 2 coats at night because he really does feel the cold.
He loves soft toys and will empty the whole toy box for a bit of fun, his favourite are small stuffed toys but he also enjoys a tennis ball.
Hozier is not a fussy eater and loves his treats. He would just love a new family to be part of and adore. He comes desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm tested, flea treated and wormed. He also had a light clean of his teeth and has good teeth for his age.
Hozier will not be rehomed with cats or young children although he does like children. We would prefer him to go to a home with another dog for company, a gentle older female dog would be ideal. He curls up with an Italian Greyhound for company in his carer’s house.

Beau: 12yo male Italian Greyhound – ADOPTED

I am a 12 year old Italian Stallion!!… or Greyhound. I am alert and playful. I love going on long walks and have a good sniff around. I also like to snuggle on my human’s lap in the evening. I am equally as happy curling up on my dog bed. I sleep through the night and don’t bark a lot.
I crave company and don’t like to be left on my own. I have spent most of my life with a female Pomeranian, but at the moment I am living with two big dogs. I am doing very well! I had no trouble adjusting life in a different environment and am very fond of my two furry friends. I also got quite attached to my foster mum and siblings. I just love being with other dogs and humans.
Whilst in foster care I got some warts removed from my body and eyelids, which really helped me. I am feeling in excellent health right now!
I am not that keen on being patted while I am asleep. I guess I don’t like surprises. Although my eyesight is excellent for my age I might have trouble hearing you if you speak to me in a very low voice. So when you want my attention please speak up a bit.
I would make a very loyal and loving companion for some folks who are willing to treat me with lots of affection and care. I would prefer to be in the company of another friendly dog as I really enjoy being with my own kind. I would equally be happy in a household where I am not left by myself for long periods of time and allowed to be with my owner.
I am de-sexed, vaccinated, micro-chipped, treated for fleas and worms.

Oskar, 3 year old Italian Greyhound cross Re homed

“Oskar” is a 3 year old Italian Greyhound cross – larger than the average Italian at 9.7 kilos which means he is less liable to injure his legs as he’s a little more sturdy. He’s shy with other dogs initially so would most likely do well in a home with another Iggy or a Whippet. He is not suitable for cats as he will chase (but not hurt) cats and birds.
He’s OK as an only dog, is housetrained but not used to being on the lead as he has lived on acreage.
He’s desexed, chipped, vaccinated

Layla 2 year old whippet, located in Victoria Re homed
Layla is currently living with 2 other Whippets and enjoys their company. Layla is 2 years old and is looking for a new home. Layla has been well loved and cared for but her owners moved to a rural property and the electric fencing isn't keeping Layla in, so she is risk of being hit by a car. She has a high prey drive and cannot be safely rehomed to a home with cats or pocket pets.
She is a very striking, jet black girl and as you can see she is in excellent health.
Layla is lead trained, housetrained, great with kids and loves people. She would love a home that fits the following:
- Secure fencing
- A male doggy companion, preferably a young adult
Layla has had all her vet work done.

Jackie 11 year old ex show dog. ADOPTED

Jackie is a total sweetheart who is 11 years young. She is an ex show girl who is excellent on the lead and wonderful with other dogs. She loves nothing more than to snuggle on your lap and enjoy your attention or to find a sunny spot and warm herself.
She has a lovely personality and will need a companion as she has never been with out one. Like most Italian Greyhounds, she is a heat seeker, she will dive under a doona at any opportunity possible. When we met her recently she was confident and calm, but loving the attention and exploring the garden. She would jump up on our laps and have a cuddle, then potter off to a sunny spot, and lay down for a rest. She is quite agile given her age and was easily able to jump into the arms (on request) of her owner.
Jackie will have all her vet work done before going to her new home, but as we said she is going to be available soon. Photos will be posted shortly, she is a lovely girl with a lot of love to give.

She is quite agile given her age and was easily able to jump into the arms (on request) of her owner.
Jackie will have all her vet work done before going to her new home, but as we said she is going to be available soon. Photos will be posted shortly, she is a lovely girl with a lot of love to give.
Lily, a mature sweetheart Staying with her foster carer

Lily came through her surgery OK – she lost some teeth, got desexed and had a mammary tumour removed but tests have shown she is cancer free. She had a small cyst on one eyelid and lost part of her eyelid (she looks normal) which now doesn’t close completely when she blinks. As a result her eye can get irritated and needs an eye gel in twice daily – this is not expensive but obviously it is important that a new owner will remember to do this as Lily’s eye can get sore otherwise.
She is a very sweet girl who has learned housetraining and how to use a doggie door. She walks beautifully on the lead and loves other dogs, snuggling up to the Italian of the household or anyone else who’s up for a snuggle really! Lily has adjusted so well to living in the house, she doesn’t take kindly to being left outside and she’ll let you know.
Patience to teach her your doggie door will be required, she’s willing to learn but it is a bit of a slow process as she’s a mature older lady. She might have an accident so if you have precious carpet or worry about these things, she is not the dog for you.
She won’t suit very busy or noisy homes, she’d be best off with no children and perhaps just one other dog so that she can have the attention she deserves after all those years in a kennel. Her foster carer walks her twice daily and she’s loving it. She is also naturally thin and we are trying to put weight on her, she really does feel the cold and needs a coat at all times and 2 at night. Lily is also sleeping on or in her carer’s bed – in other words, she’s just a typical Italian Greyhound. We’d like this to continue in any new home. Lily’s done the hard yards for long enough and now deserves to have just what she wants in life, for however long she has left.

Ty - NSW home needed for 5.5 years old Italian Greyhound boy Re homed
Ty is located in rural NSW with a country rescue. He had a rough start to life and is more nervous than the normal Italian. Therefore, more than the average IG, Ty is in need of another dog for company and to give him some much needed confidence – he simply won’t cope without this so please do not apply unless you have another resident dog, preferably an IG or similar, that is confident. As with all IGs and sighthounds in general, Ty cannot be let off lead in unfenced places and he is not a suitable candidate for dog parks. He needs a quiet home with no children and one that does not have a regular stream of visitors. Ty will need time and patience to settle in to any new home, if you want a dog that will immediately show you love and affection then he is not for you, his trust will have to be won over time but you’ll be rewarded with a faithful friend.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Anyone wanting to meet Ty, needs to be able to drive to Albury, NSW with their own dog(s) in order that you can spend some time getting to know if he will suit you and vice versa, in an environment he is familiar with.
He has been desexed, vaccinated & microchipped.

Bali is a 5 year old hairless crestie that came into rescue after the death of her elderly owner. Bali is a very sweet natured girl who is very people focused. Bali is lead and crate trained, enjoys going for walks and playing with other similar sized dogs.
Bali requires a Victorian home as we want prospective owners to be able to meet her in person. As she is hairless she will require regular baths and moisturising, plus care must be taken she does not get sunburned.
Bali would be ok as an only dog as long as her owners don't work full time. If her new owners work full time she will need another small dog for company. Bali is in the process of being housetrained but anticipate she may still have accidents so her new owners must be prepared to continue her training.
Bali will come desexed, vaccinated. microchipped, up to date with hearttworm treatment, vet checked

Shine - purebred Whippet puppy aged 6 months Re homed

Shine is a beautiful blue and white Whippet puppy in need of a new home due to unexpected changes in his owners’ circumstances. He’s a very gentle boy who loves other dogs (of all sizes) and people and he’s also a real cuddle bunny. He hasn’t met a cat before.
Whilst he’s playful and can entertain himself, he would really love a home with another dog for company should his family have to go out as he can become a bit anxious left alone which is typical of sighthounds. He’s housetrained, walks well on the lead and is very responsive to training.
Shine is desexed, vaccinated and microchipped.
Shine is located in NSW. Iggy Rescue are assisting his owners to rehome and request any interested parties to complete our Application Form. A yard check will be required.
Transport costs will be at the new owner’s expense, should they be interstate.

Bindi & Boz 7 year old ex show siblings Re homed

Boz & Bindi - sibling Whippets – 7½ years old (DOB: 10/11/06)
Are you looking for an instant doggie family without going through the “puppy stage”? Then you can’t go past this stunning pair! Boz and Bindi are Super Models (aka ex show dogs!) who are brother and sister and have never been apart. You can tell they’ve been loved and well looked after which is why the decision to rehouse them was so difficult for their owner to make, but we have promised to find them a loving home where they can be together forever; will it be with you?
Lovable Boz is such a character, he stands still to have his beloved coat put on but don’t leave it lying around when it’s off or Boz is apt to grab it and run! He thrives on human attention and is especially good around kids as his photos show. If he’s not with humans then he’s hanging out with his sister as he just loves company without being needy or licky and he rarely barks. This friendly affectionate dog is the more outgoing of the pair and tends to be the ringleader. He’s been learning to “sit” as being an ex show dog sit wasn’t part of his repertoire though he does walk well on a lead and only gets distracted if he sees a cat so we definitely wouldn’t recommend him to a home with one! Not having been socialised a lot Boz and Bindi can be a bit bossy around other dogs so a home where it’s only them would be best and as they can be startled quite easily a household that’s not too full-on would be perfect.
Enjoy a quick video of Boz & Bindi: http://youtu.be/NRaR99uC8P4
Handsome Boz is fully housetrained and would love an indoor / outdoor lifestyle – luckily Whippets don't take up much room on your couch! He is happiest sleeping inside at night curled up with his sister so we would want this continued in his forever home. He will need a jacket to wear on cooler days as Whippets really feel the cold as they have little body fat (“thin as a Whippet!”) but apart from that the Whippet is one of the soundest dogs seen by vets and they don’t appear to suffer from any major hereditary diseases as some breeds do.
Sweet and gentle best describes Bindi. She’s friendly and affectionate without being licky and “in your face” and you rarely hear her bark. She’s also terrific around kids – her foster carers 5 year old granddaughter adores spending time with her. Bindi loves to run especially in the mornings when she’s extra playful; she’ll play with her brother or chase a toy you’ve thrown. She’s been learning to “sit” as being an ex show dog sit wasn’t part of her repertoire though she does walk well on a lead and only gets distracted if she sees a cat so we definitely wouldn’t recommend her to a home with one!
We would love to honour our promise to find Boz and Bindi a home together where they can enjoy an inside / outside lifestyle and be part of the households goings on. Secure fences, daily walks, bones to chew and toys to play with will make these lovely dogs very happy indeed!!

Dash & Azi, 4 year old siblings Re homed

Dash (female) and Azi (male) are a delightful pair of Whippet siblings, who are looking for a forever home together.
Dash and Azi have had some very thorough training in their past and have good recall and beautiful manners (if you don't mind the occasional counter surf!) They are good with other dogs both big and small, but are untested with cats.
Dash and Azi are looking for a predominately indoor home where they will not be left along for long periods, will be included in family activities and of course will sleep indoors. They LOVE to run and would like a home where they will regularly be able to stretch their legs and tear around at an off lead park or beach!
Dash and Azi are just the bee's knees! they are beautiful and beautifully behaved dogs that will be a most wonderful addition to a very lucky home!
Dash and Azi are in care in Millgrove.
Medical Notes: Dash and Azi go to their new home desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and flea and worm treated.
Once the questionnaire has been returned, we will contact you to discuss.
Should the pet be potentially a good match for your home, we will arrange a meet with you and the pet, and should the meet be successful, the pet will go on a 2 week trial to ensure they settle in well!

Toby, 9 year old Italian Greyhound ADOPTED

Meet Toby the most gorgeous 9 year old Italian Greyhound. He recently came into our care after the Lost Dogs Home, Melbourne approached us and asked if we would like to take him. We are thrilled they contacted us and are most grateful.
Toby has been through a bit recently and we would dearly love to find him a loving sighthound experienced home. His owner sadly passed away and the family surrendered him to Lost Dogs Home as they could not take him.
He has a slight heart murmur and in the past has had a leg break that has not healed 100% straight. BUT, that has not stopped this little guy from being the most easygoing boy around. He walks on lead well, he rides in the car well, he is housetrained, he loves children, he is ok with cats, he is great with other dogs and he also loves his food! We are currently working on the weight side of things as you can see the middle age spread has not been kind to him…
All vet work has been done, all he needs is a perfect home to call his own.

Lexie, 18mth old Italian Greyhound cross ADOPTED

Meet lovely Lexi! She recently came into care and is a total sweetheart. Lexi was surrendered by an elderly couple due to her spritely nature. She is 18 months old, and like most young dogs, she has energy to burn. She has been playing with my four year old son and also LOVED playing with a puppy who was here when she arrived.
Lexie is a bright and happy young girl who gets on well with other dogs and is living with 2 older dogs right now. She has magnificent ears that could detect a spaceship or the rattle of the dinner bowl, they are unique! Lexie loves to play with toys and run around, she will need a daily walk and fun times with her owner, she could be a candidate for agility as she is 7.5 kilos so although she is very like an Italian Greyhound, her legs are not as fragile as a purebred.
Lexie is housetrained and used to being part of the family. As she's a bit bouncy we don't recommend placement with children under 9 yrs of age. She will not be suited to a home that has cats, she would like a doggie friend in her new home who would play with her, particularly if her owners are out at work. Lexie is very typical with her Italian Greyhound traits and is very affectionate. So, should you be wanting a cuddly companion, she ticks this box.
Lexi has had all her vet work done and she s based in New South Wales.

Sebastian is a gorgeous blue whippet, he is on the larger side at 18 kilos. He is housetrained and good with other dogs. Like most sighthounds he has spent winter curled up in front of the heater. Sebastian sleeps through the night and is in good health. He has recently had a dental.
Sebastian would like a home with another whippet or greyhound, with a fenced yard to run around in. He enjoys a walk and needs to be an inside dog. He would suit an adult household as he can be nervous with children.

Nausco, 11 year old Chihuahua mix Re homed

Nausco is a shy, timid little girl who is somewhat bewildered and unsure why she's found herself behind bars.
This little dog has obviously been someone's faithful pet for some time, but recently her family surrendered her to the pound.
She's 11 years old, so for a small breed Chihuahua mix, that is not old, and she should have many happy years ahead of her.
Too shy for photos (a little scared of the camera), she preferred to hide away in her basket. She is friendly and once she gets to know you, she just wants to be loved. She's upset and missing her family.
The only thing which would make Nausco's life change for the better would be for a kind family to take her into their home and give her the chance to live a long, happy life; something her previous family denied her of.
A little larger than a Chihuhua, she's still a small dog, and easy going and quite placid, however she can be a little intimidated by big dogs and easily frightened by them.
She is best suited to a home where she is the only dog, being given all the attention, or with another small dog.
We will add better photos soon once she is a little more comfortable with the camera.
If you believe your home could be ideal for this lovely girl, please complete our adoption enquiry form which is located here:http://www.saveourstrays.org.au/adoptionenquiry.htm

Jagger 12mth old Whippet x Re homed

RSPCA did a wonderful job re homing this beautiful boy and we hope he loves his new home in Victoria.
We wanted to bring this beautiful 12mth old, Whippet cross boy to your attention. He has been surrendered with much regret to the RSPCA in Nowra. He is to be fed away from other dogs, but is currently impounded with two other dogs and getting along very well with them. He was also living with a staffy and was fine with him too. Nowra RSPCA are happy for us to post this info, hopefully we can get a sighthound experienced person to give him a great home. We also understand that he might benefit from a person(s) who works from home or is home often.

Cosmo the 3 year old beauty ADOPTED

Meet our latest Iggy Rescue boy. This beautiful IG was surrendered by his family due to a change of circumstances - to the RSPCA.
The RSPCA saw his breed needs and decided to look at a more specialised rescue organisation. Thank goodness they did, as he is a winner! We are so grateful for the relationship being formed and also for the opportunity to set this boy up for success!
He is 3 years old, had all his vet work done and is just needing to build confidence in a couple of areas. He is house trained as far as l have experienced too - YAY! He is quick to warm to his primary owner, but been ok with my nearly 3 year old boy and partner.
I woud suggest at this stage he would be a great dog for a single person who has dogs, or a couple with a lot of time and love to give.
He travels well in the car and the only point to keep in mind thus far is that he will be a dog who needs to have his nails clipped at the vet. I would assume he has had a bad experience early on, hence his displeasure in having it done now. No big deal, but something to keep in mind.
Should you be interested in adopting him, he will be available to an Iggy approved home.

Lenny under 1 year old hairless Chinese Crested ADOPTED

Lenny came into our care after being surrendered. He is a pup who likes his human company and is very affectionate, but, is still learning the ropes. He was not socialised previously so can be a little shy initially.
Given his breed it would be preferred, but not 100% necessary that he go to someone who understands the breed and the needs they have regarding their skin.
He comes desexed, vaccinated, microchipped and vet checked.

Milton - 18 month old male iggy x whippet ADOPTED

Milton is a stunning iggy x whippet wighing in at 9 kgs. He is jet black and a real heartbreaker. Milton is a sweet boy who has ben a much loved pet, however he needs a new home as his owners will soon be off overseas. Milton MUST go to a home with another dog as he gets separation anxiety if left on his own at home. He loves his toys and his walks. Milton is housetrained, lead trained and will sit/drop/stay/beg/ wait before crossing the road and waits until he recieves the 'eat' command before he eats.
We think Milton is an iggy x whippet as his temperament is more whippet like.. Milton needs a home where he will be an indoor dog, he is well behaved indoors and excellent at couch minding!
Milton has colour dilution alopecia which is why his hair is a little patchy around his tummy, but this does not affect him healthwise. This is a condition which can affect blue and black iggies and whippets. You can see the effect of the alpocia in the bottom pic.
Milton requires a home with secure 6ft fencing as he has been known to jump low fencing.
He is currently located in Melbourne and is not available for interstate adoption. He comes with his ned, coats, leash and toys. He is available desexed, vaccinated, heartworm clear, microchipped vetchecked and wormed.
We have gotten to know a little more about Milton and we are looking for home with following criteria:
- an existing female iggy, whippet, or greyhound with high energy levels to match Milton's
- 6ft fencing
- access to indoors
- not apartment living, must have a backyard
- located in Vic as he is not a good traveller
- a home where he will be given regular walks
Milton whilst not at all aggressive is too dominant to go to a home with male dogs he is therefore only available to homes with existing female dog/s.
If your home meets the above criteria we would love to hear from you. If you apply for Milton and you can't meet the above criteria we likely will not have the time to respond to your application.

Hamish the four year old Iggy ADOPTED

Due to circumstances beyond my control, it is with much regret that l have to look for a new home for my beautiful Iggy. He is a very happy four year old boy who loves to play with his fellow sighthounds. He has grown up with all sorts of animals and gets along with them all.
He is a typical Italian Greyhound who loves his cuddles and to keep warm. For these reasons alone, l ask that only Italian Greyhound experienced homes respond to my ad. Given his playful nature, l would like him to be with another IG or whippet as he has always had the company of his 'pack'.
Hamish has had all his vaccinations, he's microchipped and desexed.
At this stage, l also ask that only people in South Australia apply. Many thanks.

Genie, 8yr old iggy x mini foxie Re homed

If you are looking for a quiet gentle girl who walks by your side and sits on the couch while you watch TV, Genie is the girl for you. She has a quiet calm demeanor and is happy for a quick trot around the block on lead. Genie is not crazy about dog off leash parks. She has a soft short coat and weighs 5.29kg. She comes desexed, C5 vaccinated, heartworm free and microchipped.
Bosun- iggy x mini foxie 11 yrs old Re homed

Bosun is a very gentle slightly timid boy. He is very social with other dogs. Bosun needs fattening up and also needs secure fencing. Bosun is very sooky and would not cope being left alone for longer periods. He comes desexed, C5 vaccinated, heartworm free and microchipped.
Meet Molly the 7 mth old Italian Greyhound x Re homed

Molly was recently rescued from the RSPCA Tasmania, by a lovely family who were hoping to get a four legged companion for their Cavalier King Charles.
The Cavalier has not bonded with Molly as they had hoped so unfortunately they need to find her a new home. It must be stressed, that it is by no fault of Molly.
Since arriving to her new home, she has settled in quickly and already learnt how to use the dog flap! Her toilet training is nearly complete, but this will have to be maintained by her new owner(s) too. She has learnt her name very quickly and has good recall too, which indicates she is a smart little girl too.
Like all Italian Greyhounds, she is very affectionate and has a very sweet disposition. She loves her human company, but would also benefit from another doggy companion. All of her vert work has been done. She is desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and continued her flea treatment.
Note: Should you be an interstate person interested in Molly, we have a fantastic carrier who transports for Iggy Rescue all over Australia. He doesn't charge an arm and a leg; so please do not be deterred by Molly's location.

Jessie, 6 year old pure Italian Greyhound ADOPTED

Jessie is by far the smallest Italian greyhound we have had. Weighing all of 3.2kg's, she came to us in appalling condition.
Rescued from a pound where she was dumper with Ally & Lia, she had shocking teeth, infected ears, conjunctivitis, worms, riddled with fleas, the longest nails l have ever seen and under weight.
Jessie was taken to West Ryde Vet where David Croft did surgery on her immediately to rectify the years of pain and neglect she had endured with her teeth. Amazingly, she came out of surgery well and her jaw stayed in tact. She has been given medications to deal with her ears and eyes, been heart worm tested, treated for the fleas and is now on the road to recovery.
Despite all of the neglect, Jessie is the sweetest little girl. Showing her spunk from the moment l picked her up, she showed me she was a fighter. After settling in to our home, we quickly learnt how trusting she was other dogs, children and us. Allowing me to shower her, start treatment on her skin, gently wipes the years of muck out of her ears, clip her nails and dry her, you could see the lightbulb turn on.
She strutted around with ease for the first time in a long time - able to walk on her paws properly. She introduced herself to the other dogs and my 2 year old, then my partner when he arrived home.
She is a dog that likes to be with her human. Once she gets to know you, she will be your shadow. Sleeping with you, sitting on your lap or next to you when you sit down and happily sleeping on her dog bed when you potter about the house. Although she is with a toddler currently, she is not suited to a home with young children. She is too small and fragile.
She will need a home that 100% understands the breed and has other small dogs so she can continue to be part of a pack. She likes to snuggle with my Italian and Cavalier King Charles, but first and foremost, she loves snuggling with me!
We would like to thank all the people who have given support and well wishes to Jessie since she has arrived. A special thank you to 'Winter Appeal for Victorian Animal Rescue Groups', they sent a lovely package up for Jessie which has been very useful. Also again, a big thank you to West Ryde Vet, David Croft and the team are wonderful!
We are thrilled to let you all know that Jessie is happily living in QLD with Renate and her furry family. She is settling in well and has learnt how to use the doggy door too! We have pics of Jessie on our facebook page with her new family.

Ally & Lia are our most recent additions, approx 7-8 years old ADOPTED

These poor girls are the most gorgeous Italians l have met of late. A trip was made to a pound in NSW and to our shock and horror, they were in appalling condition. The first thing that hit me was the smell, then their nails - the longest l had ever seen! So long, they were beginning to curl under their feet and made it difficult to walk.
Immediately l saw the sweet nature and the trust they had in me and pound staff who had obviously been keeping a close eye on them. Riddled with fleas and dirty, l put coats on them, gave them a capstar, looked at their teeth and knew that vet work was imminent.
Jane came to meet the girls and was seeing Rompe all over again. My heart sank and we all prepared ourselves for the worst. All of the Iggy Rescue Team thought it was 100% necessary for vet work to take place and free them of the pain they were in.
Their teeth were awful and the pain they must have been going through was incomprehensible. See below for images of their teeth.

These girls are going from strength to strength and each day l learn more about their little personalities. Lia (above image) has had both of her K9's removed so her tongue will hang out when she has been asleep etc. They are microchipped, vaccinated, vet work done and will be desexed once they have recovered from their teeth surgery.
We would like to thank all the people who have supported the rescue and recovery of these sweeties and especially the team at West Ryde Vet - David Croft is a magician!

So in the girls went for surgery, David Croft from West Ryde Vet was confident that they would be ok. So there they stayed for the day and with baited breath we all waited.
They were OK! They both came out of surgery and were clear of heart worm, teeth cleaned and several removed. What a relief! I cannot tell you the change l saw before my eyes! These two little girls were free of pain and their personalities began to shine right away.

Augustus iggy x, 18 months old: ADOPTED

Augustus is absolutely divine! He has a typical iggy temperament, gentle and sweet. Augustus was dumped in a rural pound and no one claimed him, so he came to iggy rescue to find his forever home.
Gus tested great with other dogs, and ignored the cats. He is iggy sized he jsut has longer hair. He looks to be an iggy x terrier type.
When i went into the pound to meet him, I sat on the floor and Augustus gently put his front paws on my chest and looked into my eyes, tail wagging tentatively. Such a sweet gentle boy.
Augustus will be on his way to foster care this week so we will know more about him once he settles in. He is a lovely reddish colour like in the pic below on the right. Once he has had a bath and a brush he will look a million dollars.
Augustus will come desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm checked. wormed, vet checked and with a fresh dental.
We are pleased to report that Augustus has been re homed and now living in Victoria with a young whippet to keep him company.

Brocky - 8 year old Australian Champion who is retired from the show ring RE-HOMED
Brocky & Summer are both looking for new forever homes. Both dogs are offered for adoption from no fault of their own. They both deserve the very best new homes.
Brocky - 8 year old Australian Champion who is retired from the show ring Red & White Brocky has been a wonderful dog to own, we have accomplished alot together but now it is time for him to go to a forever home. Brocky is an Australian Champion but is now retired from the show ring.
He is by far the most affectionate Iggy I have ever had the pleasure of owning, he would be the perfect lap dog for someone who is more relaxed. Brocky is excellent with children however, not suitable for small children as he cannot move as fast as when he was young.
Must go to a very special home with someone who has Italian Greyhound experience. He is based in QLD, microchipped, vaccinated, desexed, worming is up to date & vet checked.

Roma, 6 yrs old - ex show dog ADOPTED

What a beautiful boy Roma is. He has a very shy personality andis now LOVING being being part of the family.
Roma is a delightful boy who didn’t have a great past life, he is slightly more nervous than some Iggies – loud noises can worry him. He would therefore be best to go into a home with no children and a more confident dog for company. That said, he loves his 2 doggie brothers and will initiate play with both of them.
Roma is a very loving dog as you can see from the pictures. He has learned to cope with a young child but does try and avoid him when he’s making a lot of noise.
Roma is now fully housetrained and will take himself out of the open door. He does feel the cold and does not like to be out for too long in the colder weather – he runs outside, does his business and rushes back in.
He can be worried by other dogs approaching him and is definitely not suitable for a dog park situation or a place where lots of dogs come to visit or he is taken to strange environments with lots of dogs. It is stimulation and noise overload and will stress him out too much.
He’s a taller Iggy and has shown signs of wanting to follow his foster carer when she leaves home so will need high fencing (inc gates). He is smitten with my partner and snuggles up to him in bed or on the couch. He is happy to be in the crate while l am out, but prefers to be snuggled under a blanket near his human.
Roma has continued to settle in very well with the family and his personality is shining through. He will try to push the envelope when we are eating but has learnt quickly that this is not desirable behaviour. He has bonded well with our IG and they have been playing and snuggling with each other.
Roma now enjoys playing with toys and dancing around outside. His new favourite toy is a very large elephant which he drags around the house with him. Quite a sight to see...
Roma has landed on his feet in Melbourne and has two wonderful furry friends to play with everyday. His new parents couldn't be any more smitten than what they are, they just ADORE him to bits.

Geronimo - 8yr old iggy x boy ADOPTED

Meet Geronimo who was dumped in a country pound in a thin and filthy state. After coming into care and being bathed. wormed and fed regularly Geronimo is feeling much better. He looks to be an iggy x foxie and he is iggy sized but more solid in build than an IG.
Geronimo is estimated to be around 8 years of age. He walks beautifully on lead, sits on command and is a lovely old bloke. He is affectionate and his tail wags constantly.

Honey - 7 year old iggy girl ADOPTED

Honey – went to a home in Melbourne with an older Iggy boy who was grieving the loss of his brother and desperately needed a friend.
Honey is a 7 year old red fawn and white iggy girl that has only just come into care. Honey has been living as an outside dog, and her family had to relocate and could not take her with them. So Honey ended up with iggy rescue.
Honey is a very friendly little girl who loves people. She tends to be overwhelmed with larger dogs but is fine with other smaller dogs.
Honey would like a home with another small dog for company of her new owners work fulltime. She needs a home that will lavish her with tlc.
Honey is good with kids but a little disconcerted by dog savvy cats that dont run away.
More on Honey when she settles in to her foster home and her carer gets to know her better. At present Honey is a little chubby so we will be feeding her a low fat diet to help shed her extra weight.
Honey will come desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and with a fresh dental and pedicure.

Harry - 2yr old iggy ADOPTED

Harry – went to a home on acreage in country Victoria where his best friend is a busy Pug, he’s loving his new life!
This is Harry, he has just turned 2 years old. Harry has been very well loved but due to the death of his owner's partner he needs to find a new home. Harry's owner works in remote areas and is away for weeks at a time, and Harry frets when hes kenneled while his owner is away working.
Harry has been very well socialised and loves all people. He particularly enjoys gentle children. He is housetrained and lead trained, and knows how to use a doggy door. He also loves sleeping in the bed with you. Harry is scared of large dogs but loves dogs his own size. He is a quieter boy who spends his downtime snoozing on the lounge.
Harry needs a home without very young children, preferably with another dog his size. If his new owners work he must have another small dog for company. He must be allowed to live as an inside dog in a home with owners that understand the breed.
He is a biggy iggy and is also a little chubby at present. Harry is a lovely little boy who as you can see is absolutely stunning lookswise. Harry will go to his new home with his bed and his jackets. He is a happy, affectionate and sweet little dog who will make a fantastic companion. Harry is so striking with his jet black colouring we are wondering if he has some whippet in him, as true black iggies are rare. But either way his temperament is all iggy.
Harry comes desexed, vaccinated, wormed and microchipped. He has been on regular heartworm medication all his life.

Emma - 7year old iggy girl ADOPTED

Emma is a lovely petite little purebred fawn iggy girl who has only jsut come in to care. She is a little shy with new ppl but warms up very quickly. She has a soft nature and a very cute expression with her floppy ears.
Emma has been kept as a breeding/kennel dog so she is learning to be a house pet. She is learning to walk on lead and is being litter trained.
Emma has a swollen salivary gland at present which will be checked by a vet. If it requires surgery this will be done prior to her being adopted.
Emma is an active happy little girl who is good with other dogs. Emma needs a home with another little dog companion as she has never lived as an only dog. Emma must go to a home with prior breed experience.

Diamond - 8year old iggy girl - Fostered by Jane who has fallen in love with her and cant bear to part with her. She is the quirkiest and loveliest little dog, just really special. Jane and I are both thrilled she will be a permanent member of Jane's household.

Diamond is a purebred blue pied iggy girl. Diamond has the sweetest nature and is very social (for an iggy). She has the typiccal quirky nature that we love in IGs'
Diamond has a lovely temperament and is a happy little thing. She tends to rescource guard food so needs to be fed separately from other dogs. While Diamond shows interest in cats she does not try to hurt them, rather she is curious.
Diamond walks well on lead and is a cuddly affectionate little girl. She has been kept as a breeding/kennel dog so she is learning how to be a pet. She has been well bred and is fit and healthy. Diamond is now housetrained and loves to snuggle with you on the lounge.
Diamond would love to be someone's lap dog, and she would be ok to go to a single dog home if her new owners were home most of the time. Only homes in the greater Sydney area will be considered for Diamond, and her new owners must have prior experience with the breed.
As she is a more mature girl she is over the silly puppy phase and is a lovely gentle quiet companion. IGs live to around 15 years on average so Diamond still has plenty of years left in her.
Diamond will come desexed, heartworm tested, vaccinated, vet checked and microchipped. She will also have a dental prior to being rehomed.

Cruise - 2yr old whippet cross ADOPTED

This is Cruise our 'ring-in' we had a call about a lovely natured whippet cross in a Sydney pound whose time was almost up. So we agreed to take him on as we only had a few iggies in foster care at the time.
He is probably the easiest foster I have ever had. Cruise by name and Cruisey by nature!
Cruise is a whippet crossed with something slightly larger, as he has a more solid frame than a whippet. However he has the gentle easy going whippet temperament. He is a little large than a kelpie, and would weigh in a little over 20kgs.
Cruise knows basic commands, loves to travel in the car, is housetrained, and is excellent on lead. Cruise also has a great recall off lead and is a quiet and easy dog to have around the home. He is not a barker and does not dig or destroy things.
He is good with all dogs both male and female though he does enjoy playing with a dog of a similar (or bigger) size. He is also cat safe. He is good with my iggies and often spend time in the yard with them.
Cruise has a lovely soft low maintenance coat, and is not a demanding dog.
He would like a home where he has a similar sized dog for company if his new owners work, and he needs a home that is willing to give him a walk each day.
Cruise needs a home where he will be considered part of the family, and allowed inside with the family at least some of the time.
It is essential Cruise goes to a home with colourbond or timber fencing, as he can climb wire mesh fencing. At the pound he kept climbing between the runs to play with the dogs in neighbouring runs!

Konrad - 2yr old male iggy ADOPTED

This is Konrad who has just come into care. He is a 2year old blue pied purebred IG. Konrad comes from a lovely home where he has been well loved and it shows in his behaviour. Konrad is good with cats, dogs, chooks and horses. He is used to living on acreage and has always had company so he needs a home where he wont be left on his own every day. Konrad has lived with both large and small dogs and is fine with both.
Konrad has the most amazing blue eyes and is a stunning looking boy. He is housetrained and is used to sleeping in his owners bed at night. Konrad has come into rescue as he has pancreatitis. In order to manage his illness he must be fed a low fat diet (avail at supermarket), But as his current owner has toddlers who keep feeding him scraps and dropping food on the floor, Konrad has been ill a number of times. They are also housetrained and great with cats, other dogs of all sizes and children (8+ recommended). They are in need of a home due to a change in the owner’s circumstances which have meant they don’t have time to walk them etc. These boys are brothers who are devoted to one another and cannot be separated. 8 month old iggy girl. ADOPTED

This is a sweet little 8 month old purebred blue & white iggy girl who needs a home without children or large dogs. She is a happy friendly girl, who is very affectionate and who must have another small dog for company of her new owners work all day.
This cute little pup had a difficult start to life with health complications, which she has now overcome. At approx four months of age she thought she had found her forever home and was placed by her breeder in a nsw country home. Unfortunately approx 2 months later she ended up in the local rspca! Which is how we found out about her.
Iggy Rescue contacted her breeder who immediately arranged for this sweet iittle girl to be safely returned to her. However we are now assisting her breeder in finding the right home for her. Given that she has already bounced through one home her breeder is very keen to see her in a permanent forever home.

Kiri - 8year old purebred iggy girl ADOPTED

Kiri is a very sweet 8 year old purebred blue and white IG. Kiri was a showdog in years gone by, but now she just wants to decorate someone's couch in her retirement.
Kiri is a sweet and friendly dog who needs to go to a home where there is an existing iggy or another similar sized dog. She needs secure fencing and an owner with previous iggy experience.
Kiri is currently in foster care being housetrained and learning to be a housedog instead of a kennel dog. She is cuddly and quiet, and overflowing with typical iggy temperament and quirks. See pic below of Kiri doing a handstand as she wees!
Kiri walks very well on lead and is good in the car. She is crate trained and loves snuggling in warm blankets. She would be ok in a home with a older gentle child.

Maximus - male iggy ADOPTED

Max is a gorgeous purebred 4yr old male iggy who needs a home with someone who has experience of the breed.
Through no fault of his own Max has been bounced through a number of homes (4 that we know of prior to coming into rescue but they may be more), so it has left him quite insecure and unsure of himself. He also spent 2 months at an RSPCA earlier this year which would have been a terrifying ordeal for him.
Little Maximus is quite fearful and appears unused to living as a pet, it would seem he has been living as a kennel dog for most of his life. Max needs a very understanding owner who will provide him with secure and stable environment, so he can develop more confidence.
He is affectionate and learns quickly. He walks well on lead and gets on great with other little dogs. Max is also fine with cats. He loves sleeping on his Carer's bed and is also crate trained. His carer is working on toilet training with him as it seems up until now he has lived in kennels or outside.
Maximus is a beautiful little dog, a true heart throb. He is in excellent health and had a heap of dental work done whislt at the rspca. For anyone who is an IG enthusiast this is a delightful little dog, well bred and very sweet natured.
Because Max has been bounced through so many homes in his short life we will be quite particular about his new home. He will only be available to a home where he will be able to live out the rest of his life, this little guy's confidence cant take another change of ownership. We want to be certain that his next home is his forever home.
Maximus needs to go to a home with previous breed experience/knowledge, and preferably where he has the company of another small gentle natured dog. He needs a quiet home without children or too many other dogs.

Ringo - male iggy ADOPTED

Ringo is a 2year old blue and white purebred iggy who has only jsut come into care. He is a happy boy who likes people and gets on well with other dogs. Being only 2 yrs old he is still energetic and quite lively.
Ringo has been kept as a breeding/kennel dog so he is learning how to be a pet. He walks well on lead and is keen to please. Ringo has not yet been cat tested but this will be done soon. He is not housetrained but hopefully he will be litter trained before heading off to his new home.
RIngo would be ok as a single dog or as a conmpanion for anopther dog. However if Ringo's new owners work fulltime he would need a buddy to play with as he would become bored (and no doubt destructive) if left on his own all day every day.

Puccini is around 3 yrs old, and is good with most other dogs and very sweet and gentle boy. He has a non shedding coat that will require grooming or clipping to prevent him becoming matted again.
Puccini has the size and build of a male IG but has the soft white non shedding coat of the poodle. He is very agile and can jump into his carers arms when invited. We belive he is also toilet trained.
Puccini can be reactive with some small fox terrier type dogs, so we suspect he may have been attacked by one. So a single dog home or the capacity to test Puccini with the new owner's current dog/s would be best.

Figaro - iggy x chihuahua ADOPTED

igaro is a delightful little dog with the most lovely gold brindle colouring. Although its not very common chihuauas do come in brindle and this is where we assume Figaro gets his colouring from. There are no other breeds small enough that come in brindle that could have contributed to his colouring.
He is a lovely quiet and gentle boy, approx a year old. He has a typical iggy nature and is good with other dogs. Figaro has been in kennels doing his quarrantine after being in a pound and will soon be in foster care.
Figaro was meant to be put to sleep but the person who has the job at the pound of euthanising the dogs refused to euthanise Figaro as he was such a lovely boy! So Figaro got a stay of execution long enough for iggy rescue to save him. He must be a very special boy as I have never heard of this happening before.

Sienna - iggy x whippet x foxie ADOPTED

Sienna has a very sad story. She was abandoned at Albury dump in early June. The rangers spent 3 weeks trying to catch her. She was extremely timid, filthy dirt, very thin, and covered in sores. We believe Sienna had no food or shelter for those 3 weeks, its a miracle she even survived. Thankfully Trish from Albury Dog Rescue, heard abont Sienna and rescued her from the pound.
Since being in foster care however, Sienna has blossomed. She is a happy affectionate little girl who gets on with all other dogs. Sienna is being fostered temporarily in Albury with a houseful of huge dogs, and she gets along with them fine. She is also safe with cats.
Sienna is still thin but has been gaining weight. She appears to be fully housebroken as well. She will soon have her vetwork done and then will be going into foster care with an iggy rescue carer. Sienna will be available for interstate adoption.
Sienna must go to a home where she will be allowed inside to be part of the family. She would love another doggy companion if her new owners work fulltime.
