Konrad - 2yr old male iggy - Adopted by his foster carer!
This is Konrad who has just come into care. He is a 2year old blue pied purebred IG. Konrad comes from a lovely home where he has been well loved and it shows in his behaviour. Konrad is good with cats, dogs, chooks and horses. He is used to living on acreage and has always had company so he needs a home where he wont be left on his own every day. Konrad has lived with both large and small dogs and is fine with both.
Konrad has the most amazing blue eyes and is a stunning looking boy. He is housetrained and is used to sleeping in his owners bed at night. Konrad has come into rescue as he has pancreatitis. In order to manage his illness he must be fed a low fat diet (avail at supermarket), But as his current owner has toddlers who keep feeding him scraps and dropping food on the floor, Konrad has been ill a number of times. His owner has reluctantly decided that in order for him to stay healthy he needs to go to a home without young children, where his diet cam be strictly adhered to.
Konrad needs a home with the following:
- no young children
- an owner who is willing to keep him on a low fat diet
- a reasonable sized yard (not a townhouse size courtyard)
- human or canine companion (or both). If new owner works then he must have a doggy friend
- preferably an owner who will allow him to sleep in their bed or at least on the sofa
- preferably a home with prior breed experience
- if there is a large dog it must be gentle with smaller dogs
Konrad will be fostered in Canberra but is available for interstate adoption. Konrad will be available desexed, microchipped, vetchecked, vaccinated, heartworm tested, and with full medical history about his pancreatitis for $400.
If you are interested in offering Konrad a forever home please fill in an adoption application.

Konrad arrived into care jsut today 10/9/2011. Unfortunately his condition is far from what is depicted in the pics above which were sent to us by his owner. Pics below are of Konrad, taken today. As you can see he is severely emaciated so he will need to be in care for at least 6 weeks to get condition back. Thankfully he is reported to have a lovely affectionate nature.
Iggy Rescue would like to acknowledge the generosity of fellow iggy lovers who have already donated money towards Konrad's recovery. Without their generosity and kindness it would take us much longer to achieve all that we want to for Konrad. Their generosity means we dont have to delay vet work on our other rescues in order to direct the funds towards Konrad's vetcare. We are so very grateful for your support.
