Week 6 ON TRIAL

Excuse the bad filming, but here is Phoenix at the park today.  It has been a loooong wait, so when we were finally allowed it was hard to hide our excitement.
Picture
Everyone was soaked and dirty, but we all had fun! They socialised really well with other dogs in the park. Phoenix walked beside me most of the time, but would wonder off then come back. They both respond well to their names and they came each time they were called.
Picture
Dusty was exhausted after the park and fell asleep like this!
Picture
Phoenix took a much more civilised approach and draped himself on the bed.
Picture
So tired after so much fun at the park.

Dusty talks...

Please excuse my crazy chatting with the boys, this was pre coffee this morning.

NEVER in a million years would you have seen Phoenix next to Scott like this. It is a HUGE milestone for Phoenix and also a big tick for the Adaptil room diffuser. The change is amazing.

Hello to Dusty and Phoenix! When I saw their initial photo on the rescue page I had to read their blog to see how these two poor beauties were doing. It's so lovely to see how far they have come and how happy they are. Thank you for what you have done for them!

Gina, it has been a real treat helping these boys literally back back to life. They have made great strides to be where they are now.

SO much of it would not have been possible if it were not for the wonderful support of the team at Iggy Rescue, West Ryde Vet and all the amazing donations and good wishes from people like you.

The good news is they have also potentially now found a new forever home! Stay tuned. Ella

Hi Ella, wow, what a story & what a fabulous job you have done. Love pours through your photos & videos. I've just applied as a potential adoptive mum.
We had a divine fawn brindle whippet, Max, who died two weeks after my mum, of old age. 14! I've been a devotee of the breed ever since we had Max, and their coach potato nature coupled with the love of a brisk walk and off lead run, perfectly matches my own temperament.
Whippets are the ultimate breed & the inhumane treatment they received chills me to the core. It makes me so angry, and I hope the spirit of their original owner, who must have loved & cared for them, haunts the neighbour and relatives, who likely cared for their owner, as badly as they neglected the needs of Dusty & Phoenix!

Fiona,

Many apologies for the delay reply. I hope one of the others have been in touch re your application.

Dusty and Phoenix are on trial with a lovely woman in Melbourne. Thus far the trial is going wonderfully and we would like to think they have found their forever home.

We always have new dogs coming in and l am sure we could help you with other reputable organisations should you want a specific breed.

I am sorry to hear about the passing of your mother and also Max, it must have been a huge upheaval for you. I lost my little soul mate who was six earlier this year and l am not sure l will ever recover from his passing... Time heals all they say!

Be in touch if you would like us to help you with a new furry child, again apologies for my delay, l have been in rural Melbourne with my family.

Kindest regards, Ella

Hi there!
Im having trouble figuring out how its possible to actually adopt one or both of these lovely dogs. We currently have one Iggy named 'Pop-Eye' in whom is a 6 year old male. We only just recently said goodbye to his father 'Senka' who was diagnosed with prostate cancer. we have been very sad after the loss, and we know that pop-eye would love some company.

Please let me know asap where you are located and if there is a possible adoption!

Thank you very much.

Kindest regards,

Declan

Hello Declan,

I am so sorry to hear about your recent loss. It is such a difficult period for the whole family - especially the furry children.

Dusty and Phoenix are on trial with a woman in Melbourne who has an Iggy x Whippet and a 15 year old Whippet. Her Whippet is not well, hence the adoption of the boys.

Where are you located in Australia? Are you specifically after a Whippet(s)? I am sure we can point you in the direction of available Whippets in rescue.

Kind Regards, Ella

Thank you. Your so right, it's been quite difficult. Oh Ok no worries, hope there going well. They are really sweet dogs!

I'm from barwon heads, an hours drive outside of Melbourne. I've always had iggys and am looking for either and iggy or a whippet. I would love to adopt one! And your help would be much appreciated! Thanks!

What a lovely part of the world you live in. I am happy to help you find a loving new member of the family. Iggy Rescue re home all over australia and l know the founders will be able to tell me of good rescue organisations here in Melbourne.

Can you please email me on: findella05@yahoo.com.au so l have your email and we don't have to keep posting on the blog here. I am heading back to Sydney tomorrow, so might be off line for a few days, but will be in touch.

Kind regards, Ella
