Dusty & Phoenix 7 year old whippet boys

Picture
These 2 whippets were surrendered to us in appalling condition. Their elderly owner died and the neighbour who was supposed to be feeding them was only feeding them ONCE a WEEK.

A family member went to collect the dogs and found them in this condition. Our vet has said they are lucky to be alive and would not have lasted much longer. They are beyond emaciated. They could barely walk and had to be carried into the vet clinic

We were shocked and horrified at the condition these poor poor dogs were in. They are currently with our wonderful foster carer Ella being fed 4 small meals a day and receiving ongoing vet care. Its going to be months until these boys will be healthy enough to have their vetwork done (desexing etc) and be available for adoption.

They both have lovely temperaments in spite of their ordeal, they like children and are both house broken. Both very sweet natured dogs, Dusty is a more outgoing than Phoenix. But Phoenix is the snuggly one.

Its going to take a lot of care and vet assistance to get these lovely boys back into a healthy  weight and condition.

There is a link to a blog below which will chart both boys progress.
